Home for 4 really interesting years. We were adamant that we didn't want to go to China when we started looking for jobs. It's not an easy place to live as a westerner but it is really, really interesting and you come back with amazing stories of the craziness that is daily life. It is continent sized and, despite having traveled quite a lot while we were there, I do feel we only scratched the surface and there are loads of other amazing stuff to see, do and experience. Kinda like Spain, I had places I absolutely, positively, defo wanted to go to in China, but never got around to (Barcelona in Spain, for example) such as Tibet, Shangri La or Urumquai in China, for example.
Be warned, as a tourist, Chinese tourist 'things' do not care in the slightest for Western ideas. They have more than enough Chinese tourists and that is who they want to please and that can make things a challenge on holiday.
